As we know, anti-skid road surfacing is a common road maintenance technology. But do you know that anti-skid road surface are also divided into structural types? Today let’s talk about the types of paving structures on the anti-skid road surface.

The structural types of anti-skid surface are divided into two categories: single-layer and double-layer pavement structures.

The single-layer pavement structure is divided into three layers, which are type I high-performance cementing material, aggregate and type II high-performance cementing material from bottom to top.

Single-layer Construction process:

1. Spread Type I high-performance cementing material and aggregate onto the original road surface simultaneously. Before the Type I high-performance cementing material gels, it should be rolled slowly and uniformly with a rubber tire roller. The number of rolling passes should be no less than 2 times.

2. Use the finger pressure method to confirm that the Type I high-performance cementing material is dry, and then spray the Type II high-performance cementing material evenly on the first material.

The double-layer pavement structure is divided into five layers, from bottom to top, they are type I high-performance cementing material, aggregate, type II high-performance cementing material, aggregate, and type II high-performance cementing material.

Double-layer construction process:

1. Spread Type I high-performance cementing material and aggregate simultaneously onto the original road surface.

2. Use the finger pressure method to confirm that the Type I high-performance cementing material is dry, and spread the Type II high-performance cementing material and aggregate simultaneously onto the first course of materials. After the type II high-performance cementitious material is demulsified, it is then rolled with a rubber tire roller. The number of rolling passes should not be less than 2 times.

3. Spray Type II high-performance cement on the first and second materials. After the type II high-performance cementing material is demulsified, it is then rolled with a rubber tire roller. The number of rolling passes should not be less than 2 times.

Anti-Skid Road Surfacing treatment is a common method of highway preventive maintenance. During rolling, a small amount of water or release agent can be sprayed on the rubber wheel in the form of mist, and the overlap of the wheel tracks should not be less than one-third of the wheel width. No braking or U-turn is allowed on the constructed road.
